In third grade we will be learning many important skills in writing, grammar, comprehension and vocabulary. Third graders will learn how to write a paragraph, will learn types of sentences and will learn cursive. Cursive is a third grade skill that many students are very excited to learn!
__ What We Are Doing in Class
Right now in class we are learning about different types of sentences, interrogative, declarative, exclamatory and imperative. Students: Explain to Mom and Dad what these are :)
Each week in class we read a story and this week we are reading "Make Way For Ducklings". We will be studying spelling words that make the "le" sound and our vocabulary words for the week are:
1.Cozy
2. Responsibility
3. Vacant
4. Habitat *Remember students we have a test every Friday on our spelling and vocabulary words!
Study Tip: Put your spelling word list on the fridge or somewhere you can see them and have an adult or sibling test you each night!
This week we will be learning cursive i,e and u. Make sure to practice these letters at home!
